In 1990, Steve founded the beloved lifestyle brand, Munchkin, in Los Angeles. A young father himself at the time, he aspired to bring smart design into the nursery. Steve continues to spend his days brainstorming with the Product Development and Marketing teams, and he is the primary inventor of the majority of over 338 patents. He is the Co-Founder of Curio Home Goods, launched in 2023. Steve received the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award in the retail & consumer products category for the greater Los Angeles Area. Before starting Munchkin, Steve was a partner at Idanta Partners, a leading venture capital firm. His prior experience includes an associate position in corporate finance at Bear Stearns. Steve received his Bachelor of Science in Economics from the University of California Berkeley and his MBA from Harvard Business School.

Creative Director
Diana (db) oversees global brand partnerships and manages the Public Relations, Social Media, and Brand Design teams for Munchkin and Curio worldwide. She began her career at Munchkin in 2015. Under her leadership, the Brand Design team has won over 100 top international awards for 360 designs. She is the creator and producer of Munchkin's StrollerCoaster: A Parenting Podcast, ranked in the top 1% of Apple podcasts' Kids and Parenting category. A passionate advocate for animals and the environment, db created and leads all Munchkin CSR initiatives, including partnerships with the International Fund for Animal Welfare and Trees for the Future. In 2023, she co-founded Curio Home Goods with Steve Dunn, a premium brand of curated home goods, now part of the WHY portfolio. Before joining Munchkin, db served as the Global Director of Brand Design for Dell Inc. and several global agencies. Prior to this, db began her career in music and entertainment, holding executive creative positions at Sony and EMI. db earned a BA in English Literature from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and a BFA in Graphics/Packaging from the Art Center College of Design. She has also completed several Executive MBA programs at Harvard Business School.

Chief People Officer
Elaine Cameron serves as the Chief People Officer of Why Brands Inc., overseeing the company’s global people strategy, culture, and organizational development to support business growth and employee success worldwide.
Elaine began her career practicing employment law after earning her J.D. from the University of Washington School of Law. Early on, she developed a deep understanding of workplace dynamics, compliance, and the real-world impact of HR decisions—insights that would later shape her approach as an HR leader.
After several years in legal practice, she made a natural transition into human resources, driven by a desire to be more directly involved in shaping workplace culture and supporting people from the inside out. Since then, she’s spent over 14 years at Munchkin and WHY Brands, where she has grown into a trusted global HR leader.
Elaine brings a broad range of HR expertise—including organizational development, recruiting, and employee relations—and thrives on building strong partnerships across the business. With a deep background in consumer goods, she works closely with teams in product development, marketing, sales, operations, and legal. She’s known for her thoughtful, collaborative approach to coaching and leadership, helping teams make smart, balanced decisions that move both people and the business forward.
